The Paraguay national team faces France in the World Cup round of 16. José Luis Chilavert hits back at Christophe Dugarry's criticism.
Christophe Dugarry anticipated an easy win for Les Bleus in the round of 16. “Paraguay will be thrashed, humiliated. They will want to defend because they are incapable. Incapable. I say it twice to make it clear. Offensively they are catastrophic”, he stated.
Chilavert's response was quick. “Christophe, you're right. In the 1998 World Cup we faced the French and now Paraguay will face an African team”, he wrote on his X account.
The Paraguay national team seeks to advance in the World Cup. Last result: Mexico 1-2 Paraguay (2025-11-19). Recent form: 2W-0D-3L (WWLLL).
