The historic campaign began with a solid performance in the quarterfinals, where the Paraguayan duo defeated the Brazilian pair Maria Bezerra and Salim Belmahy 21-7 and 21-8, securing a spot among the top four and, automatically, the bronze medal.
In the semifinals, Sofía and Paula faced the US pair Micah Cruz and Sidney Li, closing a brilliant continental participation.
The competition's podium was composed of the US as champion, Peru with the silver medal, while Paraguay and Canada shared the third place with the bronze medals.
